I am the book critic for WOSU 89.7 FM, an NPR member station broadcasting throughout central Ohio. In addition to monthly radio reviews, I recommend books on WOSU All Sides Weekend Books, a live show where readers call in to talk about their favorite reads. I meet with book clubs and frequently speak on the topic of how to find good books and the art of reviewing. I’ve been the WOSU book critic for more than 25 years.
With funding from the Ohio Humanities Council, I produced and hosted Ohioana Authors, a weekly WOSU radio show that won the Ohio Public Broadcasting Program of the Year Award and also the Arts and Cultural Affairs Award for Series Programming.
I’ve served as a Literature Advisory Panelist for the Ohio Arts Council, and I’m a recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Individual Artists Grant for fiction. My memberships include the National Book Critics Circle and The Aldus Society, which is a local chapter of the national Fellowship of American Bibliophilic Societies.
